The 4th March marks just 100 days to go until the of the UEFA European Championship, Euro 2020. On Friday 12 June, the first game will kick off, seeing Italy take on Turkey as the Championship gets under way.

There are 24 competing teams all looking for success at the tournament. It wasn’t always that way. The 1980 tournament saw the number of participants double to 8. This was then increased to 16 for Euro 96, and then finally to 24 teams for the finals in 2016.
There are 12 host cities for Euro 2020. Matches will be held in Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Munich, London, Rome and St Petersburg.
There will be a total of 51 matches played at the tournament across 31 days of competition.
